5 Halloween Festivals You Should Check Out for 2019

Halloween is such a fun time for kids of all ages.  If you don’t enjoy Halloween, I can’t help but to worry about you. I remember going trick or treating with my brothers and cousins and I especially remember coming back with large bags full of candy.  What a great time that was!

Having an affinity for the paranormal, it will be no surprise that I absolutely love Halloween.  I typically try to book a place for a private paranormal investigation but, if it falls during the week, I love checking out the festivals on the weekends when I can.   Below is a list of some Halloween festivals and events that I recommend you check out.

Spooktacular Hot Air Balloon Festival

What could be better than 20+ hot air balloons on display and over 4000 lbs of candy?  Kids of all ages should go to Scottsdale to check out this amazing event!  For October 25th and 26th, you can enjoy live music, food vendors, a Kids Zone, a haunted Spooky train, fireworks, and……..of course tethered balloon rides!

Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for ages 3 – 12.   Balloon rides are for an additional fee of $25 for adults and $15 for kids ages 10 and under.  Best of all, the Kids Zone is free!

Haunted Happenings – Salem, MA

Salem is known for the infamous witch trials that occurred in 1692.  During that time, 10 people lost their lives after being falsely accused of practicing witchcraft, and were ultimately executed.   Salem is home to modern day Pagan and Witch communities but they are happy to talk about their beliefs in a friendly setting.

Grand Parade, film nights, ghost tours, haunted houses, and psychic fairs are just a few examples of the things you can enjoy in Salem.  Wicked Wednesdays have great family fun activities for ages 12 and under.

Fantasy Fest – Key West, FL

Leaving the kids with Grandma and looking for something a little more adult oriented?  Key West is the place to go!  YES, LEAVE THE KIDDIES AT HOME FOR THIS ONE!!!

This time of year is great. The temperatures begin to drop, and haunting legends and folklore start making their rounds at fall festivals and parties. Ghost hunters get excited to investigate on or close to Halloween hoping to have a avalanche of paranormal activity during the witching hour.

If you don’t have anything planned for fall, I hope you will get out and see something new. Check out one of the festivals above and HAVE FUN! Make this beautiful day count!
